The Basement
The Basement Teen Center is a community outreach project that the youth of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church have begun.  The Basement, getting its name because it is located in the basement of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, is open Saturday nights from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.  There is a DJ, dancing, 2 pool tables, air hockey table, fooseball(table soccer) table, concessions, a mini-theatre(with our new big screen TV, donated with contributions from Hall Equipment & Supply Co. Inc. and Carl and Marsha Banks) that shows a movie every Saturday night at 8:00 P.M.  There is also a full size basketball and volley ball (with sand) courts located behind the church that the teens can play on until dark.  Weekly there are different competitions that will be going on such as a three on three basketball tournament, team touch football tourney, pool tournament, Rook tournament, and a duck painting contest.  Door Prizes are given away nightly to one male and one female. Opening night we had 73 teens that attended.  We are now averaging 125 teens per night at the Basement.  We have had as many as 175!  Wow!  We hope that this community outreach program can glorify our Lord Jesus Christ as a loving and caring teen center.
The Basement Teen Center has purchased a computer with donated money.  We have also purchased a crushed ice machine and a color copier.  We have added Slushes to our menu at the Concession stand!
The Basement Teen Center and Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church are honored to host the 2001 Transylvania Presbytery
Youth-O-Rama on November 17th.
Also on this date the Basement will open at 6:00 P.M. instead of 5:00!
